This website explains the main genitourinary conditions affecting girls and boys.

Conditions
Paediatric urologists treat conditions of the upper urinary tract, lower urinary tract and genitalia, from fetal life to adolescence.
Unlike in adults, congenital malformations are the conditions we treat most often.
Clinical care, research and teaching
Clinical practice is complemented by research and teaching.
My work combines clinical care with research and teaching. I perform more than 200 operations and provide more than 1,000 consultations each year.
I combine clinical care with research and teaching, participating in clinical studies, presenting at conferences and publishing results in scientific journals.

Urological treatments
Some childhood genitourinary malformations require surgery.
Many urinary malformations are diagnosed before birth. Some require only regular follow-up with a paediatric urologist, while many will need treatment.
Depending on the type of malformation and how it develops, surgery may be needed.
Paediatric urology
Some patients need complex surgery
Even for complex operations, we aim to use minimally invasive techniques. This makes recovery after surgery much quicker and reduces the lasting effects.
